The International Film Festival Guanajuato (GIFF)-formerly known as Expression in Short-born of a common desire: to create a strong film culture and open to its various manifestations.was founded in 1998 in the city of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Sarah Hoch, acting director of the Festival, and Ernesto Herrera, president of the Foundation Expression in Short AC Our Festival arrives in a black year for the national film industry. In 1998, total Mexican films are 9, the lowest number of films since 1932.
