The road between Dolores Hidalgo and Guanajuato is curvy, but very beautiful. Rolling hills with low brush and mesquite trees. Please drive carefully. The road is curvy, so take your time. It will take about 40 minutes to an hour to reach us, as we are located in the northwestern corner of the city.
Travel through the Santa Rosa forest on Highway 110. When you pass the village of Santa Rosa, you are within 5 miles of us. Soon you will see Guanajuato off to your left and the Valenciana Church (or San Cayetano) as you come into the city. We are located in the area known as Mineral de la Valenciana, just minutes above the city. As you come into the area on Highway 110, you will pass a terra cotta and white restaurant on the right that looks like a church. It is called La Esperanza. The entrance to our street is just around the corner about 1/4 mile. Look for a sign that reads CIMAT ENTRADA NORTE.
The sign marks a spot where the highway bends to the left, go RIGHT onto the little street and take the fork to the right. You pass the ruins of the Guadalupe Mine, with its great flying buttresses. This short road ends at CIMAT, a large math research center. Turn left when you reach the gate for the CIMAT parking lot.
Casa Estrella is the first property on the right. We share a fence with CIMAT.
IF ALL ELSE FAILS, ask someone, “Disculpe, donde está CIMAT?” Once they have pointed the way, you can’t miss us!
